What time do you set up?

We typically set up around 9 a.m. (usually between 8:45 and 9:45 a.m.). Due to traffic, bridges and other logistics, we can only provide an estimated time for setup. Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate custom setup times.

How do I know I can trust Seaside Setup?

We started our business in 2021. We are a small, family-owned company with a very positive reputation — and a 5-star rating with hundreds of online reviews. These reviews include pictures of a wide variety of setups that have accumulated over our years in business.

Do you take orders or give estimates over the phone?

No, all of our pricing policies and, where appropriate, limitations are on our website.

Can you set up my Bachelorette Party?

Yes, of course! This has become a specialty of ours. We’ve helped hundreds of brides-to-be and maids-of-honor have their very best beach days. We set up bachelorette parties in Lauderdale By The Sea. Many of our reviews are from delighted bachelorettes. Do you have a retail location?

No, we are an online business that provides delivery services.

Do you work with affiliates for marketing and promotion?

Yes! We love to work with travel agents, tour companies, short-term-rental owners (AirBnB, VRBO, etc.), social media influencers and really anyone who thinks they can help us reach people visiting the beaches in and around Lauderdale By The Sea. Are you interested in opening other locations with “local guides” to do the delivery?

Yes! If you are an existing beach equipment company, or are interested in creating a lucrative side hustle that may become your main hustle, we have the marketing expertise, reputation, equipment, customer support and web presence to make your dreams come true. Do you do last-minute or same-day setups?

Not usually. Why? Staffing, inventory availability and the possibility of negative impacts to our customers who ordered ahead make this a challenge. We encourage you to book in advance. During peak times, we sometimes sell out weeks or months in advance.

What is your recommended beach?

We suggest Lauderdale By The Sea to all of our customers. It’s a clean, well-maintained beach. The beach is separated from traffic by a row of dunes, and high-rise buildings and condos don’t block your sun. Plus, there’s abundant parking and well-maintained public restrooms. What if we want to leave early?

It is your obligation to notify us via text message that you are planning to leave the beach. We are generally less than 30 minutes away from retrieving the equipment you rented. It’s very helpful if you let us know before you leave instead of texting us that you already left. Just text us at (954) 451-0266.

I have more questions; how can I reach you?

There are a variety of ways to reach us. By far, the best, fastest and most reliable way to reach us with questions is by text at (954) 451-0266. We can’t always answer phone calls, and emails frequently get screened by spam filters. Also, we are a small business. While we are always working to help customers, we do try to maintain business hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. So, questions received outside of business hours may receive a response the following day.

If I need to text, what information do you need?

You’ll reduce back-and-forth if you provide the dates requested, type of equipment you want to rent (backpack or premium) and the location you are visiting.

Why don’t you do custom setup times?

There are a variety of reasons. The area beaches are busy and get crowded. Many times there isn’t adequate space for our setups unless we set up early. Additionally, the weather in South Florida is different than you might expect. For much of the year, it rains daily. The mornings are typically sunny and calm, but the afternoons are frequently rainy and stormy. If you envision tranquil time on the beach in the afternoon, you may be disappointed.

Do you offer evening or sunset setups?

No, the sun sets in the west, and Florida beaches are on the east coast. We remove all equipment by 5 p.m.

Can’t I just buy equipment similar to your backpack equipment?

You could, but it’s not as good as it sounds. We make sure our rental pricing is cheaper than purchasing similar equipment. We regularly check Walmart, Costco, Amazon, etc. We check CVS, Walgreen’s and local gift shops, too. You may find inferior equipment cheaper – but why would you do that? We do the all the work to have well-maintained, high-quality backpack equipment. Also, if a chair or umbrella fails during your rental, we swap it out for a new one the morning after you notify us. We have photos daily of people “donating” their equipment — to our landfills. City managers say their trash trucks are full of abandoned beach chairs during the busy season. We say, “Rent and Return, Don’t Buy and Discard.” It’s cheaper, more comfortable and so much easier on our coastal environment.

My AirBnB, hotel, motel, etc., has beach equipment.

This equipment is typically first-come, first-served, used and abused or poor quality to begin with. Ours will be high-quality, well-maintained and yours to enjoy for the entire length of your stay.

Make sure you enter a mobile phone number and a valid email address when renting. Invoices and receipts are sent to your email. We communicate all other items via text message like photos, schedule changes, delivery and pickup details, etc.

Where can I have premium equipment delivered?

Premium equipment is delivered to Lauderdale By The Sea, Pompano Beach and Hollywood, Florida. We use public beach access points. We don’t use gated or private beach access. Typically, we don’t deliver more than 150 feet from the public beach access point.

How will I know which setup is mine?

On the morning of your setup, we send a photo and description of how to locate your equipment. Expect to hear from us between 8:45 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Can I have backpack equipment delivered to the beach?

No, we deliver backpack equipment to your local address like an Airbnb, hotel, house, apartment, etc.

What about the weather?

We can’t control the weather, so we can’t guarantee it will be perfect on your beach day or days. However, the weather in South Florida is fairly consistent. There is a 30%, or greater, chance of rain about 250 days of the year. If it’s going to rain, it will usually be in the afternoon, with the chances increasing dramatically after 2 p.m. We strongly suggest you plan to enjoy the beach earlier rather than later. If the afternoon storms roll in, we’ll notify you and swoop in to retrieve the equipment.
